Box Score St. Mary's over Bethany Men's Soccer
MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany men's soccer team played another non-conference game against a MIAC school on Wednesday night at the Bethany Soccer Field. The Vikings (2-9-2, 2-3-1) took on Saint Mary's University (4-5-2, 0-3-2) and fell to the Cardinals by a final score of 1-0.
The Vikings and Cardinals remained scoreless throughout the entire first half with the Cardinals attempting six shots compared to Bethany's one. The starting goalkeeper for the Vikings,
Matt Bitter (Bemidji, Minn.) had three first half saves for his team.
In the second half, Saint Mary's scored the lone goal of the contest off the foot of
Chris Trussel. The goal was assisted by
Chris Beiersforf. The Cardinals put five shots on goal during the second half of play compared to the Vikings one.
On Friday, October 9 the Vikings will have yet another non-conference game. This time the men's soccer team will welcome Finlandia to Bethany for a 5 p.m. start time.
