WAVERLY, Iowa - The Bethany men's tennis team played a pair of dual matches Sunday on the campus of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. The Vikings fell to the Knights, but defeated Loras College 7-2 to win their first dual of the season.
The Vikings won five of their six singles matches against Loras. The Nos. 3-6 singles all won their matches handily in straight sets. The quartet of
Brent Heflin, Carter Dahl, Troy Hoyord, andÂ
DJ Jackson only lost a combined 11 games.Â
Andrew Jelkin won his match in three sets.
Jelkin and Dahl teamed to win their match at No. 2 doubles 8-4 and Hoyord andÂ
Paul Riediger won their match at No. 3 doubles 8-3.
Bethany is back on the court Saturday at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis against Buena Vista and Hamline.
