ST. PAUL, Minn.  – The Vikings women's soccer team continued Upper Midwest Athletic Conference competition on Saturday afternoon against the Northwestern Eagles. The Eagles defeated the Vikings 2-1.

With the loss, Bethany falls to 4-4-2 overall and 2-1-1 in UMAC play this season.

Rachel Bitter (Bemidji, Minn.) knotted the score at 1-1 early in the second period of play for the Vikings. Northwestern capitalized late on a penalty kick goal to defeat the Vikings in conference play. The goal by Bitter marks her 10
th goal of the 2016 season. Junior goalkeeper,
Averi Cash (Ottumwa, Iowa) had 12 saves in goal during the 90 minutes of action. Bethany attempted 11 total shots compared to the Eagles 19. Â

Bethany will return to the BLC Soccer Field on Monday, October 3rd when they play a non-conference soccer game against the Bethel Royals. The contest is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
