MANKATO, Minn.  – The Bethel women's soccer team arrived at the BLC Soccer Field on Monday night to play a non-conference contest against the Vikings. Coming into the game the Royals of Bethel had managed an 8-1-1 record and had sole possession of first place in the MIAC standings. The Vikings fell to the Royals in overtime by a score of 2-1.

The Vikings played a gritty first half and managed to maintain a 0-0 tie going into halftime. Shortly after a Bethel goal, a long pass by
Lindsey Stewart (Albert Lea, Minn.) led to a goal by
Nicole Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn.) giving her 4 goals on the season. The Vikings kept the game even until a Bethel ended the game just over four minutes into the first overtime period.
Averi Cash (Ottumwa, Iowa) recorded 15 saves in net for the Vikings.

The Vikings will next travel to St. Bonifacius on Wednesday, October 5
th for a non-conference soccer matchup with the storm from Crown College. Scheduled start time is 5 p.m.
