Busy Weekend for Bethany Tennis

 
OWATONNA, Minn. – The Bethany men's and women's tennis teams had a busy Saturday afternoon at the Owatonna Tennis Center. The Bethany men's tennis team played Bethel and Wartburg while the women's tennis team played Bethel and Northwestern (IA).
 
Women's Tennis:
Northwestern defeated Bethany Lutheran 8-1

• Sabrina Batalden earned her first career win as a women's tennis player at Bethany.

Bethel defeated Bethany Lutheran 9-0
 
Men's Tennis:
Wartburg defeated Bethany Lutheran 7-2

• Jacob Kubler earned a match win at the number two singles spot for the Vikings. The scores were the following:  2-6, 6-2, 10-6
• Dexter Jackson won his match by scores of 7-5 and 6-2 at the number five singles spot.

Bethel defeated Bethany 7-2

• Jordan Poff earned his first collegiate win against Bethel. The freshman won his match 6-1, 7-6.
• In the number two doubles match, Jacob Kubler and Jason Buechler defeated the Bethel duo 9-8

The Bethany men's tennis team (0-4) will travel to St. Peter on Friday, February 12^th to take on UW-Eau Claire. The women's tennis team's (0-4) next match is Saturday, February 13^th against Hamline in White Bear Lake.
