Box Score 2 Vikings Fall Twice at Cobber Round Robin

WEST ST. PAUL – The Bethany Softball team played their first games back in Minnesota on Wednesday afternoon at the Cobber Round Robin held in the West St. Paul Dome. The Vikings fell to both Finlandia and Concordia-Moorhead.

Game One: Finlandia 18, Bethany Lutheran 10Bethany had a great start to the game against Finlandia. The Vikings scored five runs in the first inning of the contest as
Christina Wickingson led off with a double, eventually coming around to score the first run for Bethany. Finlandia responded with a powerful second inning, scoring nine runs to take a 9-5 lead. Both teams hit the ball fairly well in the game, but it was the Lions coming out on top against Bethany.

Kendra Porath sparked the Vikings offense with two hits apiece while

Angela Timm each had a hit in the ballgame.

Game Two: Concordia-Moorhead 13, Bethany Lutheran 0Concordia-Moorhead scored eight runs in the first inning of play, followed by runs in the second and third inning to make-up the scoring in game two of the Cobber Round Robin.Â
Kendra Porath singled in the fifth inning to record the lone hit for the Vikings.
