Box Score 2 Vikings Split on Day Two of Cobber Round Robin

WEST ST. PAUL – On Thursday, the Bethany Softball team traveled back to the West St. Paul Dome for day two of the Cobber Round Robin.

Game One: Concordia-Moorhead 7, Bethany Lutheran 4Comparing to the 13-0 loss to Concordia-Moorhead in the opening day of the Cobber Round Robin, the Vikings put together a competitive game in the second contest against the Cobber's this season. The Vikings struck for three runs in the bottom of the first inning to get the scoring started on the day. Bethany would add another run in the third inning to complete the scoring in game one.

Christina Wickingson (Mason, Wis.) had a nice day at the plate, finishing with three hits and one run scored.
Kendra Porath (Wyoming, Minn.) and
Allison Norton (North Pole, Alaska) contributed with two hits apiece.
Porath also added two RBI's to the box score.

Game Two: Bethany Lutheran 4, Finlandia 3, in eight inningsEarning their third victory of the season, the Vikings defeated the Lions in extra innings to finish the 2016 Cobber Round Robin. The Vikings used a 12-hit attack and solid pitching in the second game of the day.

Highlighting the day for Bethany was freshman
Kendra Porath. The third baseman recorded four hits in the efforts over Finlandia. Senior
Dani Emkes (Montevideo, Minn.), finished the contest with two hits and three RBI's while
Amber Schulz (Amboy, Minn.) added two hits to the offense.

Christina Wickingson earned the victory in the circle for the Vikings. The junior pitched all eight innings while striking out seven batters.
