Box Score 2 Vikings Rebound After Game One Loss

FORT MYERS, Fla. – On Wednesday, the Bethany Softball team returned to the diamond for a pair of games against Wilmington and Wheelock College.

Game One: Wilmington 5, Bethany Lutheran 4The Vikings scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, and had the tying and winning runs on first and second base, but could not get those runs across in the efforts against Wilmington Quakers. The Quakers held the Vikings scoreless through the game's first six innings. It was then in the seventh when the Vikings struck for four runs on four hits, leaving two runners on base to lose the close battle in Florida.

Anna Pipenhagen (Elk River, Minn.),
Amber Schulz (Amboy, Minn.),
Averi Cash (Ottumwa, Iowa),
Dani Emkes (Montevideo, Minn.), and
Magen Meyer (Spring Valley, Minn.) each recorded a hit for the Vikings offense.

Magen Meyer suffered the mound loss for Bethany. The sophomore pitched all seven innings, giving up four earned runs while walking four batters.

Game Two: Bethany Lutheran 12, Wheelock 2In the second game of the split doubleheader, it was the Vikings taking the early lead and never looking back. The Vikings earned their second victory of the season in the efforts over the Wildcats. The stats were not available following the victory over Wheelock.
