Vikings Tennis Returned to the Courts Saturday

OWATONNA, Minn. – Both the men's and women's tennis teams at Bethany returned to the Owatonna Tennis Club on Saturday for a pair of matches. The Vikings played a non-conference match against Midland University before they took on St. Scholastica in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action.

Women's Tennis:Midland University 6, Bethany 3Earning victories for Bethany against the Warriors in singles competition was
Sabrina Batalden (Anoka, Minn.) and
Justine Bennett (River Falls, Wis.), winning their matches in three sets. In doubles competition,
Megan Braatz (Sun Prairie, Wis.) and
Madalyn Elmquist (South St. Paul, Minn.) teamed up for a match win at the second doubles spot for the Vikings.

In the afternoon, the Vikings fell to St. Scholastica 9-0 to fall to 1-1 in UMAC play this season.

Men's Tennis:In the first match of the day, the men's tennis team fell to Midland University 9-0 in a non-conference tilt before falling to the Saints from St. Scholastica 9-0 in the afternoon match. The Vikings fall to 1-1 in conference play on the season.

Up Next:The next match on the schedule is set for April 9
