ST. PAUL, Minn. – On Saturday, the Bethany men's and women's tennis teams competed in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference match against the Minnesota Morris Cougars. Both teams clinched a spot in the 2016 UMAC postseason tournament.

The men's team improves to 6-13 overall, and 4-3 in UMAC play.
The women's team stands at 4-15 overall, and 3-4 in UMAC play.

Women's Tennis:
Bethany Lutheran 7, Minnesota Morris 2
After falling to the Cougars earlier in the season, the women's tennis team earned an important conference victory the second time facing UMM. In doing so,
Alicia Kranz (Arlington, Minn.),
Megan Braatz (Sun Prairie, Wis.),
Madalyn Elmquist (South St. Paul, Minn.),
Sabrina Batalden (Anoka, Minn.), and
Kaitlyn Bolte (Colorado Springs, Colo.) all earned singles match wins for BLC.

In doubles competition,
Braatz and
Elmquist teamed up for an 8-1 victory at the number two spot while
Batalden and Justine Bennett (River Falls, Wis.) also won 8-1 in the third spot in the lineup.

The Vikings showed their dominance on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Cougars for the second time this season. Earning singles victories for Bethany were the following:

- Andrew Jelken (Luverne, Minn.)
- Jason Buechler (Kasson, Minn.)
- Dalton Werckman (Foley, Minn.)
- Robbie Stevens (Cathedral City, Calif.)

Kubler to help secure the conference win for Bethany.
