SUPERIOR, Wis. – Saturday afternoon the Vikings softball team played an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader against UW-Superior Yellowjackets. The Yellowjackets took both games from Bethany in the doubleheader.

Game One: UW-Superior 17, Bethany Lutheran 4
Bethany scored one run in the top of the first inning, followed by two runs in the second inning and one run in the third inning to make up the scoring attack in game one.
Kendra Porath (Wyoming, Minn.),
Anna Pipenhagen (Elk River, Minn.),
Amber Schulz (Amboy, Minn.),
Allison Norton (North Pole, Alaska),
Angela Timm (Wood Lake, Minn.), and
Dani Emkes (Montevideo, Minn.) each had a hit against the Yellowjackets.

Game Two: UW-Superior 8, Bethany Lutheran 0 (5 innings)
The Vikings and Yellowjackets both had seven hits in the second game of the split doubleheader. Leading the offensive attack was junior
Christina Wickingson (Mason, Wis.), finishing with two singles as the Vikings leadoff hitter.

Anna Pipenhagen started on the hill for Bethany, finishing the game with six strikeouts in four innings of work.
