DULUTH, Minn. – On Thursday, the Bethany softball team traveled to St. Scholastica to take on the first place Saints in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Saints took two from the Vikings to remain atop the conference in softball.

Game One: St. Scholastica 12, Bethany Lutheran 1
Bethany struck first in the contest with a run in the first inning, after
Christina Wickingson (Mason, Wis.) drew a walk followed by a single by
Anna Pipenhagen (Elk River, Minn.).Â
Pipenhagen and
Amber Schulz (Amboy, Minn.) each had two hits to make-up the hitting attack for Bethany. The Saints responded with runs in the first, second, and fourth inning to defeat the Vikings in game one of the doubleheader.

Game Two: St. Scholastica 21, Bethany Lutheran 0
In game two, it was the St. Scholastica Saints using their offensive advantage to earn the victory over Bethany.
