Tennis Teams Secure Spots in UMAC Postseason Tournament

MANKATO, Minn. – On Monday, the Bethany men's and women's tennis team welcomed the Martin Luther Knights to the BLC Tennis Courts for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference tennis match.

The men's team won their match by a final score of 8-1 to secure the number three spot entering the postseason tournament.

The women's team dropped their match to the Knights by a score of 7-2. The women's team will enter the postseason tournament as the number four seed.

Men's Tennis:
Bethany Lutheran 8, Martin Luther 1
The Vikings had a strong performance in front of their home crowd on Monday afternoon to secure the number three spot in the conference tournament. The entire lineup for Bethany had a solid performance on the courts today. Bethany improved its record to 7-15 this season and 5-4 in conference play with the win.

Women's Tennis:
Martin Luther 7, Bethany Lutheran 2
The Vikings fell in the competitive conference rivalry conference match. BLC fell to 4-17 on the season and 3-6 in UMAC play in the defeat.
Sabrina Batalden (Anoka, Minn.) picked up the lone singles win for the Vikings while
Megan Braatz (Sun Prairie, Wis.) and
Madalyn Elmquist (South St. Paul, Minn.) teamed up for a doubles victory.
