Bethany Begins 2016 Tennis Season

 
DES MOINES, Iowa – On Saturday afternoon, the Bethany men's and women's tennis teams began the 2016 season with matches against Grand View and Simpson.
 
The men's team split a pair of matches, falling to Grand View 0-9 in the opening match of the season before coming back to defeat Simpson 6-1. The women's team fell to both Grand View and Simpson in the 2016 opener.
 
Men's Results: Bethany Lutheran 6, Simpson 1
Andrew Jelken (Luverne, Minn.), Carter Dahl (Albert Lea, Minn.), Laine Larson (Long Prairie, Minn.), Dalton Werckman (Foley, Minn.) and Dexter Jackson (Chicago, Ill.) were all strong in their singles matches, leading the Vikings to the first victory of the 2016-17 season. Jackson and Larson also won their doubles match.
