MANKATO, Minn. – During a busy Fall Festival – homecoming weekend on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College, the women's soccer team opened their 2016 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference schedule at home against the Rams from North Central.
Bethany got on the scoreboard early and never looked back, defeating the Rams 5-0 to earn their first conference victory of the season.
The Vikings got the scoring started two minutes into the contest when
Rachel Bitter (Bemedji, Minn.) scored her seventh goal of the season. The goal was assisted by
Nicole Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn.) and
Ali Mix (Western Heights, Okla.).
Right before the period ended,
Bridget Brown (North Mankato, Minn.) connected on a pass from
Lydia Wildauer (Port Washington, Wis.) to extend the Vikings lead to 2-0 entering halftime.
In the second half,
Bitter scored her eighth goal of the season in the 58
th minute. The goal was assisted by
Wildauer and
Moldstad. Later in the contest,
Elena De Vera (St. Paul, Minn.) and
Adalia Dualan (Chanhassen, Minn.) found the back of the net for the first time this season to help the Vikings to a 5-0 conference victory.
Bethany finished the contest with 21 shots on goal compared to the Rams two.

Bethany will welcome the Knights from Martin Luther to the BLC Soccer Field on Wednesday, September 21
st for a 2 p.m. conference match.
