Vikings Drop First Two Matches of Season

NORTHFIELD, Minn. –The Bethany volleyball season got underwayÂ
on Friday afternoon. The Vikings took on the Oles of St. Olaf and lost in straight sets 3-0 in game one and fell to the Macalester Scots in game two by a score of 3-0.
In game one
Rachel Sorensen (Windom, Minn.) led the Vikings attack with four kills, while
Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn.),
Haley Domonoske (Waterville, Minn.), and
Rebekka Olsen (North Mankato, Minn.) each tallied three kills.
Mackenna Hinz (Burnsville, Minn.) led the Vikings in digs with 19, and
Jasmine Carlson (Windom, Minn.) led the Vikings with nine assists.
Against the Scots in game two, the Vikings were led by
Megan Rutt (LeCenter, Minn.) with five kills.
Veeva Lee (St. Paul, Minn.) tallied 13 digs for the Vikings and
Allyson Lauer (Maplewood, Minn.) recorded six assists.
The Vikings will continue play in NorthfieldÂ
tomorrow with a match against the Carleton Knights at 11 a.m. and a game against the Crown Storm at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at the West Gymnasium on the campus of Carleton College.
