Box Score 2 Vikings Finish St. Olaf Invite with First Win of 2016

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran Vikings concluded this weekend with two games against Carleton College and Crown College. The Vikings dropped the first game to the Knights 3-0 before recording their first win of the season in the second contest with a 3-1 victory over Crown College.Â

In game one,
Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn.) led the Vikings with six kills while
Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) and
Rachel Sorensen (Windom, Minn.) each had three.
Jasmine Carlson (Windom, Minn.) was atop the leaderboard in both digs and assists for the Vikings with nine and seven respectively.Â

In the second contest,
Rebekka Olsen (North Mankato, Minn.) led the Vikings with 13 kills and
Alannah Menk (St. Cloud, Minn.) was close behind her with 10.
Veeva Lee (St. Paul, Minn.) led the Vikings in digs with a total of 21, while Carlson tallied 15. Carlson also had 21 assists, while
Allyson Lauer (Maplewood, Minn.) recorded 15. Rutt also compiled 4.5 blocks for the Vikings in the four-set match, four of which were solo blocks.

The Vikings resume play next Tuesday when they take on the Buena Vista Beavers at 7 pm in the North Gym on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College.
