ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The Bethany men's soccer team (1-12-2, 0-8-2) lost a UMAC contest to Crown (3-10-2, 2-6-2) on their home field by a score of 2-0.
The first half of play was mostly back and forth with each team tallying a handful of offensive opportunities. The first shot for the Vikings came five minutes into the game from Jakob Burgess. Crown then took control of the ball for the next ten minutes and took four shots of their own, but they were unable to get anything past Vikings goalkeeper Ryan Lietz. The Vikings recorded three more shots in the first half and Crown recorded three more shots in the remainder of the half, but neither team scored. Bethany and Crown headed to halftime with a 0-0 tie.
After the break, Crown got to work quickly in the second half and scored the first goal of the game six minutes in. Almost ten minutes later, they added another goal to stretch their lead to 2-0.
BLC tallied six total shots in the game and fiver corner kicks. Ryan Lietz made four saves in the game for the Vikings.
