MORRIS, Minn. – The Bethany men's soccer team (1-11, 0-7) came up a little bit short against the Morris Cougars (6-5-1, 4-2-1) on Saturday in UMAC play. The Vikings played hard and had about as many opportunities as the Cougars, but came up short 1-0.
The two teams battled for 45 minutes to a 0-0 tie in the first half. The stats show that each team had their opportunities, but solid defense and goalkeeping prevented any shots from finding the back of the net.
Seven minutes into the second half, the Cougars got a goal from Gabe Arrequin. The goal from Arrequin proved to be the difference as the Cougars won 1-0.
Wesley Shade kept the Morris defense honest as he tallied three shots to lead the Vikings offensive attack. Trenton Krueger tended the net for the Vikings and made five saves.
Up Next: The Vikings play North Central University on Wednesday, October 11 at 3:15 PM to continue UMAC play.
