ROSEMOUNT, Minn. – In their final games before heading to Arizona to compete in the Tucson Invitational games over spring break, the Bethany Lutheran softball team played a non-conference doubleheader against Macalester College on Wednesday night at the Rosemount Dome. The Scot earned the DH sweep over the Vikings, winning 8-0 and 10-0.
Following the contest, Head Coach Dan Nessler and the 2017 Vikings fall to 1-5 on the young season while Macalester begins the season 2-0.
GAME ONE: Macalester 8, Bethany Lutheran 0:
In the efforts over BLC, the Scots scored a run or more in five of the six total innings of softball. Bethany Lutheran collected three hits while surrendering five defensive errors.
Anna Pipenhagen (Elk River, Minn.),
Rachel Kurtenbach (Cottonwood, Minn.), and
Megan Westphal (North Mankato, Minn.) each record a single in game one.
GAME TWO: Macalester 10, Bethany Lutheran 0:
In the final game before heading down to AZ, it was the Scots coming away with the victory. Freshman
Samantha Meginbir (Lloydminster, AB) compiled the lone hit compared to the opponent's 15 total hits.

The Bethany Lutheran softball team will now travel to Tucson, Arizona over the weekend to begin preparation for competition starting on Sunday, March 5
th at 3:30 p.m. (MST) against Hiram College.
