TUCSON, Ariz. – After a pair of losses in yesterday's contests the Vikings bounced back on their final day in Arizona and split a pair of games. After the day the Vikings improve to 3-10 on the season and their young squad looks to continue improving as they travel back to Minnesota and inch closer to conference play.
GAME ONE: Bethany Lutheran 11, Newbury College 1 (6 innings):
- Anna Pipenhagen tallied 11 strikeouts and gave up zero earned runs in earning her third victory of the season. Offensively, she led the Vikings with four hits.
- Christina Wickingson and Samantha Meginbir each tallied three hits in game one.
- Katelyn Karels led the team in RBI's with four which all came when she hit a grand slam, the first home run of her collegiate career.
GAME TWO: Mount Marty 3, Bethany Lutheran 2:
- Pipenhagen and Wickingson combined to pitch the second game for the Vikings.
- Meginbir and Cindy Pawlitschek each had an RBI for the Vikings in the loss
UP NEXT:
The Bethany Lutheran Vikings will return back to Minnesota and be competing in the Cobber Round Robin on March 15
th and 16
th where they will play four contests in the West St. Paul dome.
