Vikings Conclude Cobber Round Robin with Split
WEST ST. PAUL, Minn. – To conclude the 2017 Cobber Round Robin, the Bethany Lutheran softball program split a pair of games against Concordia College and Finlandia University.

In the third game of the Cobber Round Robin, the BLC softball team lost to Concordia College, a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Vikings and Cobbers combined for 32 total hits in seven innings of game play. Several Vikings finished the contest with two hits apiece.
Game Two: Bethany Lutheran 5, Finlandia University 2:
After losing the second game against Finlandia yesterday, the Vikings got revenge on the Lions in day two of the round robin. Offensively,
Cindy Pawlitschek (St. Paul, Minn.) and
Kendra Porath (Wyoming, Minn.) each had two hits. The lineup produced 11 total hits compared to the Lions four.
Anna Pipenhagen (Elk River, Minn.) came into pitch for Pawlitschek in the fifth inning. The right-hander gave up one run in the top of the sixth inning before the Vikings answered in the bottom half of three runs to take a 5-2 lead over Finlandia. Pipenhagen came away with the win in the circle for the Vikings to record her second win in as many days.
UP NEXT:
The BLC softball team will now take a 12 day break before returning to the field of play on March 28
th against Martin Luther College in a non-conference doubleheader. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. in New Ulm, Minnesota.
