CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Bethany baseball team returned to action on Sunday with a doubleheader against the Coe College Kohawks. The Vikings won the first game by a score of 1-0 before dropping the second game 10-2. After today's contests the Vikings now post a 3-8 record on the season.
GAME ONE: Bethany Lutheran 1, Coe College 0
- Brandyn Olsen (Blue Earth, Minn.) pitched a complete game for the Vikings going eight innings and allowing no runs. The senior scattered six hits while striking out ten in the game.
- John Brown (Lake City, Minn.) recorded the only two hits in the game for Bethany with his second being the hit that gave the Vikings the lead in the eighth.
GAME TWO: Coe College 10 , Bethany Lutheran 2:
- Trent Saharek (San Clemente, Cali.) tallied the only two hits for the Vikings in game 2.
- The Coe College Kohawks tallied 13 hits in game 2 against the Vikings.
UP NEXT: The Vikings will return to play in Minnesota this Thursday when they head up to U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis for a doubleheader with the Augsburg Auggies. The games are scheduled for 6 and 8 pm.
