Successful Day for BLC Tennis at Swanson Tennis Center
ST. PETER, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's and women's tennis teams had a busy Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center. The Vikings played a non-conference match against Loras College at 10 a.m. before playing the University of Minnesota-Morris in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play.

- Bethany Lutheran defeats Loras College 5-4
- BLC defeats Minnesota-Morris 9-0
- Women's Scores:
- Loras College defeats Bethany Lutheran 9-0
- BLC defeats Minnesota-Morris 7-2
MEN'S:
In a very exciting non-conference tennis match, the Vikings came away with a 5-4 win over the Duhawks to hand them their second loss of the 2017 season. In singles competition,
Laine Larson,
Carter Dahl,
Jacob Kubler, and
Dexter Jackson all were victorious. In doubles, Dahl and Jackson won the No. 3 match for BLC to ensure the victory.
To begin the 2017 UMAC season, Bethany Lutheran handed Minnesota-Morris a 9-0 defeat to improve to 7-7 overall and 1-0 in conference.
Andrew Jelken and
Dalton Werckman contributed with a singles victory to join the rest of the Vikings lineup earning match wins.
WOMEN'S:
The Duhawks earned the 12
th win of the 2017 with the victory over the Vikings at the Swanson Tennis Center.
In the UMAC match against the Cougars, the Vikings won the match 7-2 to earn their second conference win over UMM this season.
Denae Walton,
Sabrina Batalden,
Megan Braatz, and
Kaitlyn Bolte were the four individuals earning match wins in singles competition. In doubles competition,
Alicia Kranz and Walton set the tone with an 8-3 win at the No. 1 position.
Ryana Sadaka and Sabrina Batalden followed suit with a win, followed with yet another match win by Justine Bennett and Megan Braatz.
UP NEXT:
Bethany Lutheran will return to the Swanson Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon with a match against Concordia College. Both the men's and women's match is scheduled to begin at noon.
