BLC Baseball Begins 2017 Season

TUCSON, Ariz. - On Sunday, the Bethany Lutheran baseball team opened up the 2017 season at the Tucson Invitational Games at the Kino Sports Complex. The Vikings played the Aurora Spartans in game one of the season before playing Wabash Little Giants under the lights.
 
GAME ONE: Aurora University 16, Bethany Lutheran 5:
After defeating Simpson College in a doubleheader yesterday, the Spartans showed their strength offensively, pounding out 23 hits on the Vikings throughout the nine inning contest. Leading the way offensively was junior John Brown (Lake City, Minn.), Jordan Grams (Mankato, Minn.), and Kevin Harris (El Paso, Texas). The three of them combined for six of the team's 11 total hits.
 
GAME TWO: Wabash College 11, Bethany Lutheran 6:
Senior Brandyn Olsen (Blue Earth, Minn.) pitched the game's first five plus innings, giving up five hits and three earned runs while striking out eight batters. Senior Nolan Grose (Waterville, Minn.) had himself a nice night at the plate, finishing with a double and two singles while junior Walker Linde (Wells, Minn.) added two hits in his Vikings debut.
 
UP NEXT:
Bethany Lutheran (0-2) returns to the diamond on Monday morning with another contest against Wabash starting at 9 a.m. (MST). In the second game of the split doubleheader, BLC will face the Rams from North Central at 12:30 p.m. (MST). Both games will be played at the Kino Sports Complex.
