BLC Softball Falls Twice at Tucson Invitational
TUCSON, Ariz. – On Thursday afternoon, the Bethany Lutheran softball team continued play at the Tucson Invitational Games against two strong opponents in Aquinas College and Arizona Christian. The Vikings fell in both contests to fall to 2-10 on the season.
GAME ONE: Aquinas College 9, Bethany Lutheran 0:
Junior
Anna Pipenhagen (Elk River, Minn.) started in the circle for Head Coach Dan Nessler in game one of the split DH. The right-hander threw the game's first five innings, giving up five runs.
Cindy Pawlitschek (St. Paul, Minn.) came in relief for the final two innings of the contest. Pawlitschek led the Vikings with two hits.
GAME TWO: Arizona Christian 10, Bethany Lutheran 2 (5 innings):
Senior
Christina Wickingson (Mason, Wis.) got the nod in game two, throwing quite well in her second appearance of the season.
Samantha Meginbir (Lloydminster, AB) recorded a double against ACU while teammates
Kendra Porath (Wyoming, Minn.) and
Katelyn Karels (St. Clair, Minn.) each had an RBI single.
UP NEXT:
The Vikings will conclude their spring trip on Friday with a split doubleheader against Newbury College and Mount Marty College. The first game will begin at 11 a.m. at Lincoln Park Complex in Tucson, Arizona.
