MORRIS, Minn. – Head Coach Dan Nessler and the 2017 Bethany Lutheran softball team swept an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) doubleheader at the University of Minnesota Morris on Thursday afternoon.

- Overall Record: Bethany Lutheran (10-20, 4-6) Minnesota Morris (4-24, 0-8 in UMAC)
GAME ONE:
The Vikings scored multiple runs in the first three innings of the conference game, which set the tone for the day of softball. BLC scattered 12 hits compared to the Cougars six. Leading the way for Bethany Lutheran was
Kendra Porath (Wyoming, Minn.), going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Christina Wickingson (Mason, Wis.),
Anna Pipenhagen (Elk River, Minn.),
Samantha Meginbir (Lloydminter, AB), and
Rachel Kurtenbach (Cottonwood, Minn.) were all 2-for-4 to secure the win over UMM. Pipenhagen went the distance inside the circle. The junior struck out seven batters while only giving up one earned run.
GAME TWO:
Pipenhagen carried her dominance from game one into game two of the DH. The right-handed pitcher recorded her second win of the day, 10
th of the 2017 campaign, with her four hit shut-out of the Cougars. Offensively, Pipenhagen and Meginbir each added two more hits apiece while
Magen Meyer (Spring Valley, Minn.) also had two hits.
