Mankato, Minn. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Bethany Lutheran baseball team welcomed Crown College to the BLC Baseball Field for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) doubleheader. The Vikings were able to win game one before the second game would be postponed due to weather.
The Basics:
- Final Score: Bethany Lutheran 17, Crown 3
- Overall Record: Bethany Lutheran (15-15, 7-4) Crown College (12-11, 3-4 in UMAC)
GAME RECAP:
The Vikings got the bats moving early and often today. The Vikings were able to bring at least one run to the plate in every inning.
Brandyn Olsen (7-0) got the start on the mound and would eventually finish with a win. In doing so, he helped himself out, finishing the game by going 5-for-5 with six RBIs and a total of two HRs.
Nolan Grose also had a great day at the plate, adding another 4 RBIs on 3 hits, two of which were doubles. Rounding out the stellar offensive day for the Vikings was
John Brown, who added a single and a triple, while knocking in a run.
UP NEXT:
The Vikings will play host to UW- Superior (5-5, 3
rd in UMAC) in another UMAC. First pitch is slated for 1:30 P.M. with game two to follow.
