MORRIS, Minn. – On Saturday afternoon, the Bethany Lutheran men's and women's tennis teams concluded the 2017 regular season with an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference match against Minnesota-Morris Cougars. Both the men and women were victorious in the efforts against UMM.
MEN'S MATCH: BLC 9, UMM 0
The Vikings ended the 2017 schedule in style, going a perfect nine-for-nine against Minnesota-Morris. The following athletes earned victories for Head Coach Jill Bailey on Saturday afternoon.

Laine Larson,
Dalton Werckman,
Carter Dahl,
Jacob Kubler,
Dexter Jackson and
Jordan Poff.
WOMEN'S MATCH: BLC 8, UMM 1
The Vikings went a perfect six-for-six in the singles portion of the conference match against the Cougars.
Alicia Kranz defeated her opponent in the No. 1 singles spot while
Denae Walton followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 2 position.
Sabrina Batalden and
Megan Braatz picked up victories in the middle of the BLC lineup as
Justine Bennett and
Kaitlyn Bolte concluded singles play with 6-1, 6-4 and 6-1, 6-1 wins.
In doubles, Kranz and Braatz were successful in picking up the 8-1 victory at the No. 1 spot, as Walton and Batalden rounding out the scoring for BLC with a 8-4 victory in the second doubles match.

Both the men's and women's team will now compete in the 2017 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament on May 5 and 6 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Competition will begin on Friday, May 5th with the BLC men's team taking on the Northwestern Eagles at 6 p.m. The BLC women's team will play the number one seed St. Scholastica Saints at 8:30 p.m. All postseason matches will be played at the Baseline Tennis Center.
