ASHLAND, Wis. – Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) baseball began for the Bethany Lutheran Vikings on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings opened play with a doubleheader at Northland College.

GAME ONE: Brandyn Olsen (Blue Earth, Minn.) dominated game one with his school record performance on the hill. Olsen struck out a new school record 17 batters in his nine innings that helped him record his fifth win of the season. On the offensive side of things Olsen reached base in all five of his plate appearances with two hits and three walks.
John Brown (Lake City, Minn.) also had two hits for the Vikings and racked up two RBI's.
Jordan Grams (Mankato, Minn.) and
Danny Kneeland (Windom, Minn.) each scored two runs for BLC in the win.
GAME TWO: The Vikings tallied 18 hits with every single starter for the Vikings recording at least one hit. Olsen and
Nolan Grose (Waterville, Minn.) each recorded three hits in game two. Olsen, Grams, and
Walker Linde (Wells, Minn.) all had two RBI's for the Vikings.
Alex Babcock (Elk River, Minn.) recorded the win in relief by pitching 6 1/3 innings, allowing just one earned run, and striking out five.
UP NEXT:
The Vikings will return to the BLC Baseball Field on Tuesday, April 11
th against Martin Luther College. The UMAC will begin at 1:30 p.m.
