MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Returning to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Postseason Tournament for the fourth consecutive season, the Bethany Lutheran men's tennis team played the University of Northwestern Eagles in the semifinal round on Friday night.
The tournament is a four-team tournament hosted at the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center. Information about parking can be found on the
Baseline Tennis Center website.
The two teams played to a 5-4 decision in their first match this spring. However, the Vikings lost the second of the year and despite some competitive individual matches, the Vikings couldn't break the Eagles in the semifinals on Friday night.
After going down 3-0 after doubles play, the Vikings showed some grit in singles play to nearly come back and earn the trip to the UMAC championship. Four of the singles matches went to a tiebreaker for the third set.
Dalton Werckman and
Carter Dahl were able to take the tiebreaker while
Dexter Jackson won in straight sets for BLC.
BLC concludes the 2016-17 season at 10-13 overall and 4-4 in the conference standings.
