Ripon, Wis. – The Bethany Vikings men's soccer team took down Ripon College on the road on Sunday. The Vikings (1-2) were after their first win of the season against Ripon (2-2-1), and they got it with a 2-0 victory.
The Vikings scored a goal in each half of the game with the first coming on a penalty kick from sophomore forward Samuel Duran in the 35th minute. The second goal for the Vikings was scored by sophomore midfielder Jonathan Sehloff.
The two goals was enough for the Vikings to secure the win. Ripon managed to get three more shots on goal than the Vikings, but they were unable to get anything past sophomore goalkeeper Trenton Krueger. Krueger was huge in the win for the Vikings making 12 saves.
Up Next: The Vikings begin UMAC play this week when they travel to take on Northwestern on Wednesday, September 13. The match is set to begin at 5 PM.
