Mankato, MN.  – The Vikings volleyball team lost a close contest with the Buena Vista University Beavers, losing 2-3 (26-28, 25-19, 25-27, 25-22, 6-15). This loss moves the Vikings record to 9-16.
 
In the first set, the two teams traded runs to take the lead throughout the set; and the Beavers ended on a 6-4 run to put themselves over the Vikings 28-26. In the second set, the Vikings went on a 22-8 run, and finished out the set with a 25-19 win. The rest of the match was similarly very close, with the Beavers getting 30 kills to the Vikings 37 in the last three sets. The match ended with the Vikings having a 65-57 kill advantage, the a 58-53 assist advantage, and the Beavers having a 8-7 ace advantage.
 
The Vikings were led by Megan Rutt with 30 kills, Mindy Poehler with 15 kills, and Kalli Mathiasen with 49 assists.
