Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 St. Paul, Minn. - In their first action since Arizona, the Bethany softball team dropped two games, the first to Concordia by a score of 11-1 before they fell to Finlandia 5-1 in the second game.
In game one Bethany dug a hole early that they couldn't get out of. Concordia scored nine runs in the first inning and Bethany didn't have enough to battle back into the contest. The Vikings managed just three hits on the contest and those hits came off the bats of
Eden Ambrose Sydney Kappel and
Sarah Presler.
Presler's hit in the third inning singled home
Kappel who doubled earlier in the inning for the lone Viking run.
Kaylee Mork came on pitching in relief and allowed just two earned runs in five innings for a solid effort for the Vikings.
In game two the Vikings struck first in the first inning when
Mork singled to lead off the inning and was eventually brought in on a base hit by
Ambrose, who managed two hits in the contest.
Ambrose also started game two on the mound for the Vikings and went all six innings allowing just three earned runs while striking out five. The Vikings bats went cold though as they managed just three hits in the final six innings of play.
UP NEXT: The Vikings are back at it tomorrow as they take on Bemidji State at 10 A.M. and Finlandia again at 12 P.M.
