Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Roseville, Minn. - Bethany played Minnesota-Morris on the campus of the University of Northwestern today and came away with two wins, by scores of 5-4 and 8-0. With the victories the Vikings move to 7-11 on the season and start the UMAC season off with a 2-0 record.

In game one things started out quick for both teams as both Morris and Bethany posted runs in the first two frames with Morris holding a 3-2 advantage after two innings. The Vikings tied the game in the fourth when Morgan Mashlan tripled and Julia Pfeiffer followed with a sacrifice fly to even the score at three. Morris retook the lead in the top of the fifth but Bethany answered right back after Sarah Presler singled, stole second, and was driven in on an Anna Pipenhagen double. The game stayed tied at four until the bottom of the seventh when Kaylee Mork reached second on an error, advanced to third on a wild pitch and Presler stepped up and hit a hard one hop back to the Morris pitcher's right that bounced off her glove into left field to score Mork for the victory. Pipenhagen picked up the victory for the Vikings by going the distance. She struck out 10 and allowed just seven hits in the game.

In game two the Vikings dominated from the outset. The Vikings scored three in the first, two in the third, and three in the fifth, which was supplemented by another complete game effort from Pipenhagen where she allowed no runs and struck out three. Eden Ambrose was the offensive leader for the Vikings as she went three for three in the contest, scored two runs, had two RBI's and also hit her first collegiate homerun. Taylor Kottke and Mashlan both went two for two in the contest as Kottke scored two runs and Mashlan had two RBI's to help push the Vikings to victory.

UP NEXT: The Vikings will travel up the highway to St. Peter on Monday, April 2nd for a doubleheader with Gustavus with scheduled start times at 2 and 4 P.M.
