Box Score 2 TUCSON, AZ. – The BLC softball team (3-7) lost to Wittenberg University (5-7) and St. John Fisher (7-5) in back to back games on Thursday.
The Vikings went with a young lineup in game one, starting eight freshman against the Tigers. The Vikings had a tough outing against the Tigers, losing by a final score of 11-0.
In game two, the Vikings squared off against St. John Fisher who started the season as the 2nd ranked team in the country. The Vikings hung tough behind a great effort from Anna Pipenhagen, but the Cardinals got the 2-1 win.
Pipenhagen threw six innings, giving up five hits and two runs with eight strikeouts. The Viking offense tallied five hits in the ballgame. Pipenhagen was 2 for 3 with one RBI and Kaylee Mork had one hit and one run. Julia Pfeiffer and Sarah Pressler also recorded one hit for BLC.
Up Next: The Vikings finish off their spring trip tomorrow and play Coe College at 9 AM MST followed by SUNY Oneonta at 11 AM MST.
