Vikings extend win-streak to 4

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The BLC Vikings won their 3rd and 4th straight games today, defeating Northland College in a double-header. The games were played at the University of Northwestern on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The Vikings took game one 4-0 and game two 6-3.
 
Game one started in style with a diving catch by Kaylee Mork. Anna Pipenhagen struck out the next two batters to end the top half of the first. Pipenhagen was on fire all game, striking out 14. In the 4th, Sarah Presler reached on a base-hit and then stole 2nd. Pipenhagen ripped a double to bring Presler home for the 1st run of the game. Pipenhagen scored the 2nd run of the game only moments later. Presler finished 3 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 steals. Pipenhagen was 2 for 3 with 1 run and 1 RBI. The Vikings added two more runs in the 6th and won by a final score of 4-0. Taylor Kottke finished 1 for 2 with 1 RBI and Megan Westphal scored 1 run.
 
In game two, down 2-1 in the third, Anna Pipenhagen doubled to bring home Sarah Presler and Kaylee Mork. Isabella Lattery followed Pipenhagen with an RBI single, bringing Morgan Mashlan home. Sydney Ziegler scored the final run of the third inning to give the Vikings a 5-2 lead. Pipenhagen was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs in the game. Mashlan was 3 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 stolen bases. The Vikings finished out the game with a 6-3 win and Pipenhagen picked up her 2nd win of the day.
 
Following the game, the Vikings honored their three seniors, Amber Schulz, Rachel Kurtenbach, and Anna Pipenhagen.
 
UP NEXT: The Vikings have a double-header against North Central on Tuesday, April 24. The games will be played at Northwestern at 11 AM and 1 PM.
