Box Score 2 Duluth, Minn. - The Bethany softball team traveled to Duluth today for two contests against the St. Scholastica Saints. The Vikings dropped a close first contest 2-1 before losing the second 8-1. With the outcomes of the other games around the league, the Vikings clinched a spot in the UMAC postseason tournament.Â
Anna Pipenhagen pitched well for the Vikings in game one and allowed just one earned run and struck out six in the contest.
Pipenhagen also supplied the lone Viking run with a solo home run in the fourth inning that tied the game at one run apiece. The Vikings had just three hits in the game and the other two came off the bats of
Kaylee Mork and
Taylor Kottke.
In game two the Saints bats got hot as they produced eight runs on thirteen hits. The bright spot in game two came when
Isabella Lattery hit her first home run of the season to give Bethany their lone run. The Vikings produced three other hits in the game that came from
Kottke,
Eden Ambrose and
Julia Pfeiffer.
UP NEXT: The Vikings will play at Crown College on Monday, April 30th with start times of 3:30 and 5:30.
