Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Bethany softball team ended their regular season by splitting a pair of games at Crown College. The Vikings lost the first game 2-6 before bouncing back and winning game two 8-3.
In game one the Vikings couldn't come back as they fell behind 6-0 early and mustered just two runs on three hits in the contest. The three hits came off the bats of
Sarah Presler,
Anna Pipenhagen, and
Taylor Kottke with
Pipenhagen receiving the only RBI for the Vikings.
Game two was a whole different story as the bats got hot early and
Pipenhagen pitched well on the mound to earn the victory. Crown scored an unearned run in the first inning before the Vikings scored the next six runs. A large part of the big offensive surge was due to
Eden Ambrose.
Ambrose got three hits and tallied three RBI's to lead all Viking hitters while
Presler and
Morgan Mashlan each recorded two of the Vikings hits.
Pipenhagen was dominant on the mound throwing all seven innings, striking out eight, and allowed just two earned runs.
UP NEXT: The Vikings will travel to Duluth on Thursday, May 3rd, for the first round of UMAC Tournament play where they will once again play Crown College, with a start time of 10 AM.
