Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 Austin, Minn. - Bethany traveled to Austin for a pair of away games versus the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday morning. The Vikings won the first contest by a tally of 4-0 before dropping the second 8-9.
Game one started off with a bang as
Kaylee Mork hit the second pitch of the game over the left field fence to take an early lead. That one run would have been enough thanks to the dominant effort on the mound and in the field fromÂ
Anna Pipenhagen and company.
Pipenhagen threw all seven innings allowing no runs, just three hits, and striking out four. In the contest
Taylor Kottke also helped spur the Vikings offense as she went two for three with an RBI.
In game two it was a hitting clinic from both teams as the Vikings outhit the Jackets by a tally of 13-10 but couldn't muster out a victory. Bethany had four different players with at least two hits but
Eden Ambrose led the way with three hits as well as three RBI's.
Mork,
Rachel Kurtenbach, and
Sarah Presler all tallied two hits for the VIkings with
Presler recording two RBI's as well as two runs.Â
UP NEXT: Bethany will look to host their first true home game of the year this Thursday, April 12th, with two games scheduled at 3:30 and 5:30 PM with the Northwestern Eagles.
