Storm Lake, IA. – The Bethany Lutheran College Viking's volleyball team lost to the Buena Vista University Beavers (7-3) 1-3 (16-25, 25-22, 20-25, 12-25).
In the first set, a 9-1 run help put the Beavers out to a 19-7 lead. In that set, the Vikings tallied 7 kills to the Beavers 15, and 43 attacks to the Beavers 44. The Vikings were able to win the next set despite a 5-1 run by the Beavers in the beginning of the set. The Viking's ended up losing the next two sets.
The Vikings were led by
Megan Rutt with 10 kills,
Kalli Mathiasen with 23 assists, and three Vikings got 2 blocks in the game;
Megan Rutt,
Natasha Young, and
Mindy Poehler.
Up next: The Vikings travel to Minneapolis, MN to have their first conference game against the University of Wisconsin Yellowjackets on Saturday, September 15th at 4:00 P.M.
