Minnesota-Morris Sweeps Bethany Lutheran

MANKATO, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran volleyball team (8-14 overall, 2-3 UMAC) was swept 3-0 by Minnesota-Morris Saturday afternoon. The Cougars won 25-23, 25-18, 25-19, to remain undefeated in the conference standings.

The Vikings led 16-12 in the first set, but UMM compiled a seven-point run to regain the lead for good. In the next two frames, the Cougars built early leads which they did not relinquish.

Senior Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) led all hitters with 15 kills. Classmate Haley Domonoske (Waterville, Minn.) had a career-high .636 hitting percentage. Senior Veeva Lee (St. Paul) had a team-best 11 digs and junior Brittany Sanders (St. James, Minn.) tallied 25 assists.

As a team, BLC held the advantages in team blocks (7-2).

The Vikings return to the court Wednesday when they host nonconference opponent, Buena Vista at 7 p.m.
