MANKATO, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team (10-5 overall, 3-2 UMAC) defeated Northland (2-10-1, 1-3-1) 5-1 Saturday.
Senior Jonny Sehloff (Mankato, Minn.) gave the Vikings the early 1-0 lead as he connected on a pass from junior Vincent Ayodi (Nairobi, Kenya) at 5:56.
The LumberJacks evened the game at 21:21 and this remained the score through halftime.
BLC was awarded an own goal just into the second half and freshman Joao Bastos (Piraciacaba, Brazil) helped claim the lead for good with his score at 53:58.
Senior Samuel Duran (Marshall, Minn.) made his penalty kick attempt to extend his margin as the career leader in that category.
The Vikings owned the advantage in shots (23-9) and corner kicks (11-3).
