MANKATO, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team (10-5 overall, 3-2 UMAC) opens a two-game road swing when it travels to face North Central (3-12, 1-4) Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Vikings are third in the conference standings while the Rams are eighth.

The Series
The Vikings owns the lead at 14-5-2 as the programs have met at least once a season since 2008. This includes the nonconference meeting earlier this season on Sept. 21 where BLC won 1-0.

Bethany Lutheran
Freshman Max Busch (Odenthal, Germany) leads the team with 18 goals and two assists for 38 points. Classmates Marcel Campabadal (Vilassar de Mar, Catalonia, Spain) and Joao Bastos (Piracicaba, Brazil) follow with seven goals. Freshman Luke Oosterbosch (Veldhoven, The Netherlands) has five goals and a team-best 14 assists.

Senior Moritz Bruns (Leer, Germany) has a .714 save percentage, seven wins, and three shutouts.

Career Record Watch
Bruns is second in goalkeeper wins (9), fifth in shutouts (4) and ninth in saves (93). Senior Samuel Duran (Marshall, Minn.) is the career leader in penalty kicks (5), tied for fifth in assists (10), seventh in goals (15) and points (40). Classmate Jonny Sehloff (Mankato, Minn.) is tied for eighth in goals (13) and 10th in points (30).

Busch is fifth in goals (18), tied for sixth in game-winning goals (4), and eighth in points (35). Oosterbosch is tied for second in assists (14).

Single Season Record Watch
Oosterbosch is the single season record holder in assists (14) and third in points (23). Busch is tied for first in game-winning goals (4). He has set the season records in goals (18) and points (38). Campabadal is tied for sixth in points (19) and tied for ninth in goals (7). Duran is second in assists (8) and  seventh in points (18). Bastos is tied for sixth in points (16) and tied for ninth in goals (7). Junior Vincent Ayodi (Nairobi, Kenya) is tied for third in assists (6).

Bruns is tied for first in wins (7) and tied for fifth in shutouts (3).

As a team, BLC has set a new school record in goals (57), assists (50), and points (164).

Against the Conference
Busch is tied for third in goals (4) and fourth in points (9) while Oosterbosch is tied for third in assists (3). Bruns is third in goals against average (1.600) and second in shutouts (2).

National Stat Rankings
BLC ranks in the top 100 of 10 national stat categories, the NCAA released Monday.

The Viking are: first in points/game (10.93), points (164) and goals (57), third in assists/game (3.33), fourth in corner kicks/game (7.93) and assists (50), 10th in shots/game (20.80),  11th in shots on goal/game (10.13), 98th in won-lost percentage (.667) and 99th in shutout percentage (.400).

Individually, Oosterbosch leads the nation in assists/game (1.00) and assists (14), 61st in goals (24) and 65th in points/game (1.71).

Duran is 31st in assists (7), and 50th in assists/game (.47) while Ayodi is 59th in assists (6) and 74th in assists/game (.43).

Busch is first in goals/game (1.50), goals (18) and points/game (3.08), sixth in points (37), 10th in shots on goal/game (2.75), 24th in shots/game (4.58), 26th in game-winning goals (4)

North Central
Henry Puchuela leads the team with six goals and Weston Buckly follows with four. Goalie Jerad Buse has played the most in the net and has 37 saves and a save percentage of .649.
