Men's Soccer Travels to Face St. Scholastica

MANKATO, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team (11-5 overall, 4-2 UMAC) concludes its two-game road swing when it travels to face St. Scholastica (7-12, 6-1) Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Saints are second in the conference standings while the Vikings are third. Both teams have clinched a berth in the UMAC conference tournament.

The Series
The Saints own the series lead at 29-0, as the programs have met at least once a season since 2008.

Bethany Lutheran
Freshman Max Busch (Odenthal, Germany) leads the team with 21 goals and two assists for 44 points. Classmates Marcel Campabadal (Vilassar de Mar, Catalonia, Spain) and Joao Bastos (Piracicaba, Brazil) follow with nine and eight goals, respectively. Freshman Luke Oosterbosch (Veldhoven, The Netherlands) has a team-best 14 assists.

Senior Moritz Bruns (Leer, Germany) has a .714 save percentage, seven wins, and three shutouts.

Career Record Watch
Bruns is second in goalkeeper wins (9), fifth in shutouts (4) and ninth in saves (93). Senior Samuel Duran (Marshall, Minn.) is the career leader in penalty kicks (5), tied for fifth in assists (10) and goals (17) and seventh in points (44). Classmate Jonny Sehloff (Mankato, Minn.) is tied for eighth in goals (13) and ninth in points (31).

Busch is fourth in goals (21), tied for sixth in game-winning goals (4), and eighth in points (41). Oosterbosch is tied for second in assists (14) and 10th in points (26).

Oosterbosch is the single season record holder in assists (14) and third in points (26). Busch is tied for first in game-winning goals (4). He has set the season records in goals (21) and points (44). Campabadal is tied for fourth in points (23) and tied for fourth in goals (9). Duran is second in assists (8) and fifth in points (22). Bastos is tied for seventh in points (19) and tied for sixth in goals (8). Junior Vincent Ayodi (Nairobi, Kenya) is tied for third in assists (6).

Bruns is tied for first in wins (7) and tied for fifth in shutouts (3). Freshman Philip Ronza (Blaine, Minn.) is tied for eighth in shutouts (2) and 10th in wins (2).

As a team, BLC has set a new school record in goals (67), assists (52), and points (186).

Against the Conference
Busch is tied for second in goals (7) and second in points (15) while Oosterbosch is tied for fourth in assists (3). Bruns is second in goals against average (1.600) and second in shutouts (2).

St. Scholastica
Alex Dodd and Nolan Friday co-lead the team with six goals. Corey Bulheller has logged every minute in the net and has 76 saves, seven wins, and a .697 save percentage.
