MANKATO, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran volleyball team (11-16 overall, 4-4 UMAC) swept North Central (9-14, 1-7) 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-15) Wednesday in its regular season finale. This marked the seventh-straight meeting for the Vikings in the series.
Senior Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) led all hitters with 12 kills. Freshmen Kasidy Cacka (Brownton, Minn.) and Alexis Morsching (Morristown, Minn.) finished with a monstrous .667 hitting percentage and senior Haley Domonoske (Waterville, Minn.) recorded a.600 hitting percentage with her six kills.
Junior Brittany Sanders (St. James, Minn.) had 26 set assists and senior Veeva Lee (St. Paul) led the defense with nine digs.
As a team, BLC held the advantages in kills (37-18), hitting percentage (.342 vs. .056), assists (32-16), service aces (12-3), digs (36-29) and blocks (6-3).
The score of the first set remained close as neither team led by more than three points. Bethany compiled a 6-2 run to pull ahead 21-15 to claim the lead for good.
The Vikings opened the second frame on a 10-2 run and led 12-4 in the third to cruise to set victories.
BLC returns to the court Monday when it opens play in the UMAC Conference Tournament at UW-Superior at 7 p.m.
