MANKATO, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran volleyball team finished with an overall record of 11-17 and were 4-4 in conference matches under seventh-year John Olmanson, who is now the winningest coach in program history in the NCAA Division III era. The Vikings advanced to the conference tournament for the second-straight year and third time in the last four years.
Senior Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) led the team with 304 kills and 3.20 kills/set. She finished her career ranked third in kills (1,326), matches played (112), and sets played (396), ninth in solo blocks (28), block assists (126) and tenth in total blocks (154). Rutt earned First-team All-Conference honors for the third time in her career.
Freshmen Alexis Morsching (Morristown, Minn.) and Kasidy Cacka (Brownton, Minn.) were the second and fourth-leading hitters with 180 and 161 kills, respectively.
Senior Mindy Poehler (Nicollet, Minn.) was third with 168 kills and led the team with 68 blocks. She finished her two years with the program ranked ninth in solo blocks (28).
Classmate Haley Domonoske (Waterville, Minn.) completed the leading hitters with 117 kills. She concluded her career ranked fifth in total blocks (203), sixth in solo blocks (44) and block assists (159), and eighth in sets played (356).
Junior Brittany Sanders (St. James, Minn.) recorded 644 set assists, which is tenth best in a season, and 44 service aces to lead the team in both categories. She holds the seventh spot on the career leader list in assists (746).
Senior Veeva Lee (St. Paul) had a team-high 440 digs, which is seventh-best in a single season, and owns the sixth spot on the career leader list (883). She also ranks second in aces (116), as she is the second player in program history to surpass 100 in a career.
