Box Score 2 TUCSON, AZ – The Bethany Lutheran Vikings softball team is down in Tucson, Arizona for their annual spring trip. The Vikings already had six games under their belts with a 4-2 record. Today, the Vikings lost game one to Skidmore College 5-2 and lost game two to St. Mary's (IN) 5-4.
After two runs in the second broke a scoreless tie, the Vikings held their lead through six innings. Kaylee Mork drove in the first run of the game with a double to left field. She then maneuvered her way around the bases and would give BLC a 2-0 lead as she touched home. Things were looking good for the Vikings, but Skidmore rallied for five runs in the seventh inning to take the lead. The Vikings were unable to answer, falling 5-2.
The Vikings recorded just three hits in the game spread between Sarah Presler, Kaylee Mork, and Eden Ambrose. Bria Majeski pitched a great game, but came up just a little bit short. She went 6.2 innings and eventually gave up the five runs in the seventh along with a total of four hits and seven strikeouts. Shelby Bloemendaal replaced Majeski to get out of the inning.
In game two, the Vikings had a 1-0 lead after two innings, but St. Mary's scored four runs in the third to take the lead. Each team would score one more run in the fourth, giving the Belles a 5-2 lead after four. The Vikings chipped away at the deficit with a run in the fifth and the sixth, but they couldn't generate enough, losing 5-4.
Kaylee Mork went 2-4 with a double and one RBI to lead the Vikings' offense. Freshman Jasmine Bejarano had two RBIs. Eden Ambrose, Haylee Sobrero, Zoe Kinakin, and Anna Hoffman each tallied a hit for BLC.

Up Next: The Vikings continue tomorrow at 9 AM MST against Mount Mary followed by 11 AM MST against Millikin.
