St. Paul, MN.  – The Bethany Lutheran College Vikings split their first two games after their spring training in Tucson, Arizona. The first game against Concordia College (MN.) they won 3-0. The second game, against NCAA DII Bemidji State University, was a loss for the Vikings, 11-0.

In the first game,
Bria Majeski struck out two batters to close out the top of the first. The Vikings would be able to get a hit, but the first inning would end scoreless. In the second inning, Concordia had three straight strike outs. The Vikings came up and, with one out on the board,
Morgan Mashlan grounded out, but was able to bat in
Zoe Kinakin who was on third. The Vikings would score again in the fifth and sixth innings to make the score 3-0.
Bria Majeski pitched a near perfect game, with Concordia recording no hits until the top of the final inning of the game.
Bria Majeski recorded 11 strikeouts against 22 batters and
Zoe Kinakin would score two of Bethany's three runs.

In the second game, the Vikings were able to keep pace for a little bit, with the game going scoreless through two innings and the Vikings beating the Beavers in hits 1-0. Then, the Vikings would leave a runner on second to end the third, and the Beavers would take control scoring 3 runs with just one out on the board. No Viking would get a hit in the fourth, and the Beavers would score 8 runs and the game would end with two outs on a Beavers grand slam to set the final score at 11-0.

Up next: The Vikings will have two games on Thursday, March 21st to advance their 9-6 record. The first 10 a.m. against Bemidji State University and the second will be at 12 p.m. against Finlandia University. Both games will take place in St. Paul, MN.
