Morris, MN. – After a 2-7 start to their season, the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings have placed their record at 8-11 after a two game sweep of the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars. The wins make three in a row for the Vikings, and they put their UMAC record at 2-0.
The first game started off fairly slow, the Vikings would score on a
Ben Boran RBI, and then neither the Vikings nor the Cougars would score until the top of the fifth inning. There,
Ross Beumer would bat
Grant Becher in, and the Vikings would hold a 2-0 lead after the fifth. The Vikings would go on the score in the sixth, seventh, and ninth innings, and they would seal a 5-0 victory.
The second game saw the Vikings find their offense much quicker, scoring 5 runs through the first two innings. The Cougars would also find their offense, ting the score at five at the end of the third inning. However, the Vikings would be able to fight back, and they would take this game 8-5.
Up next: The Vikings travel to St. Paul, MN to take on the University of Northwestern Eagles in a double header on Wednesday, April 10th, with the first game starting at 4 p.m.
